Off the Ring
Privacy Policy

Off the Ring collects nothing. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. Every shot, session, routine and fixture you log stays on your device.
What the app stores, and where
All of the following is saved only in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad. None of it is transmitted anywhere, because the app has no server to send it to:
- Shots you log: where you shot from on the circle, the outcome (goal, or a miss off the front, back, left or right) and the release time.
- Sessions and routine runs, including the sample sessions the app ships with.
- Custom routines you build: spot positions, names and reps.
- Club fixtures: the opposition, venue, quarter-by-quarter tallies and any notes you type.
- Release photos you attach to a fixture, copied into the app's own storage.
- Your preferences: playing position, club name, training nights, reminder time, sound, haptics and appearance.
This data is included in your device's own encrypted backup (iCloud or your computer) the same way any app's documents are. Deleting the app deletes it. Off the Ring has no way to read, copy or restore it from anywhere else, because it never leaves your device.
Camera and photo library
Camera. Used only when you tap "Camera" on a fixture's match sheet to take a release photo. iOS asks your permission the first time; the camera never opens without it. The photo is saved straight into the app's storage.
Photo library. When you tap "Library", the system photo picker opens. The app only receives the single photo you choose — it cannot see or browse the rest of your library, and no extra permission prompt is needed for this picker.
Notifications
If you turn on training-night reminders, Off the Ring asks for notification permission at that moment and schedules local reminders on your device for the weekdays you choose. These notifications are created and delivered entirely on-device; no notification service or push provider is used.

Required-reason API use
Off the Ring reads UserDefaults to store your preferences on-device (Apple reason code CA92.1). It does not use any other required-reason API — no file timestamps, system boot time, disk space or active-keyboard checks.
Children's privacy
Off the Ring does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date above.
