Off the Ring

Support

A shooting log for club netball goal shooters and goal attacks. Help with the circle, routines, the match sheet and zone analysis.

Log a shot

Circle tab → tap where you shot from → "I have the ball" starts the three-second release count → call the result: Goal, or a miss off the front, back, left or right.

Run a routine

Routines tab → pick a set → Start. The circle walks you from spot to spot and tallies the result at the end.

A club fixture

Match Sheet tab → plus button → opposition, venue and a release photo. Tap a quarter on the sheet to tally it shot by shot.

Frequently asked

How does the three-second count work?

Once you mark that you have the ball, a release ring counts the way an umpire would: one, two, three. Past three seconds the ring changes colour as a reminder that it would be a free pass in a real game, but you can still log the shot — the app never stops you.

What counts as a super shot?

A shot taken from the outer band between the 3 metre line and the edge of the circle, worth two goals during Suncorp Super Netball's Power Five — the final five minutes of each quarter. Turn Power Five scoring on from the session menu or in Settings, and super shots marked in that zone score two automatically.

Where do routines come from, and can I build my own?

Twelve built-in sets ship with the app, each with named spots and a coach's cue: Under the Post, the Five Spot Round, Top of the Circle and more, plus two super-shot sets. Tap the plus button on Routines to build your own — tap spots onto the court, rename them and set reps for each, up to twelve spots.

The camera won't open, or I'd rather pick a photo

The first time you tap Camera on a match sheet, iOS asks permission — allow it to take a release photo. If you declined, open iOS Settings → Off the Ring and turn Camera back on, or just tap Library instead, which uses the system photo picker and needs no extra permission.

Training-night reminders don't arrive
Is my shooting data backed up? Can I move it to a new device?

Every shot, session, routine, run and fixture lives in the app's own storage on your device, which is included in your encrypted iCloud or computer backup. There is no account and nothing is sent to a server, so restoring a backup onto a new iPhone or iPad brings everything with it.

How do I start over?

Settings → Erase everything clears every shot, session, routine and fixture from the device and returns the app to onboarding. Settings → Restore samples brings back the sample sessions you saw on first launch without touching anything else you've logged.
