Frequently asked

How does the counter know what a rep is?

It doesn't guess. You count. Tap the pad once on every fixation, exactly as a judge would count it. That keeps the number honest and works with any bell, any style and any gym. If you tapped by mistake, press No-count to remove the last one.

What is the ghost pacer?

Your best finished set at the same event, bell and length becomes a pacer. The next time you load that combination, the live screen shows how many lifts you are ahead of or behind that set at this exact second, and the chart draws its minute splits as a dashed line. Turn it off in Settings if you prefer a clean screen.

When does the hand switch cue fire?

For snatch, one-arm long cycle and one-arm jerk, the app switches the counted hand at the minute you set on the platform screen (half the set by default) and announces it with a banner, a sound and a triple haptic pulse. You can also switch manually any time by tapping the HAND chip.

Where do the rank standards come from?

They are reference targets for a full ten-minute set, modelled on the tables commonly used in girevoy sport and scaled by weight class. Federations differ and revise their rules, so always check the current table for the competition you are entering. A set only counts toward a rank if it ran the full ten minutes with a bell at or above the one the rank requires.

Nothing sounds or vibrates during a set
Reminders don't arrive
The camera or photo picker won't open

The first time you tap Camera or Library, iOS asks for permission. If you declined, go to iOS Settings → Girya Count and switch Camera or Photos back on. Photos you attach are stored inside the app and never uploaded; delete one any time from the photo screen.

Is my training data backed up? Can I move it to a new iPhone?

The journal lives in the app's private storage, which is included in your encrypted iCloud or computer backup. Restoring a backup onto a new device brings your sets, photos, plan and settings with it. There is no account and no cloud sync, so the data never sits on someone else's server.

How do I start over?

Settings → Reset all data erases every set, photo, plan entry, bookmark and preference from the device and returns the app to onboarding. This cannot be undone.
